Thanks for my morning “surprise”. The unspoken fact: money runs everything. To quote from the movie “The Right Stuff”: “No bucks, no Buck Rodgers”. Also “cash is king”, but the first one’s a lot more fun.
Money is simply the ability to do things at a personal level, private sector, and especially public sector.
Cash cannot be removed from politics any more than removing oxygen from the atmosphere. And the worst cash idea is government funding candidates’ campaigns, which gets floated every 10 years or so. Private sector donors (people, unions, corporations, etc) is targeted to where the donors want. That’s the way a republic works.
It is the sheer amount of money, and this particular class of tech billionaires who have totally benefitted from US support and funding of their projects from which they reap the personal rewards and US owns nothing it paid for, who also seem to own us because they do, and people are generally angry about all of it. It isn’t about the money alone. It is about all of it and the grifting of politicians, and the data centers are just a point where they can fight back a little. The people feel they have lost control and they did when they signed up for FaceBook in 2008 or so and gave away their privacy and thus their agency. People feel government has failed them. They are right. They are angry. They are mostly in the middle politically with leans to left or right, and they want real solutions and a government that works together…who out there is offering anything close? We need term limits, age limits. We crave leaders who actually know and understand history and have moral compasses and we want to stop with the outrage click bait, oh and the many lies. What happened to shame? People are tired of everything being about furthering political gain. It is all so seedy and no one wants a part of it anymore. Live executions are a stain on all of us whether we watch or not and they will make us less safe as well as indistinguishable from terrorists themselves. It isn’t one thing, it is everything.
1. Listen to The Ruthless Podcast- this morn opener is all about Ilhan and the info that led to this raid on her office. Far more dirt than i knew. Friend sent to me and it's well worth the listen (abt 1st 10 min cover it)
2. Rodgers should challenge El Sayed to take lie detector test on livestream or nat tv. His inability to hold eye contact w Welker + his immediate pivot are both 100% indications by all intelligence of someone who is being deceitful. He's full of it and we all see it in his face and body lang. Oh and in his sister's tweets and the $ trail.
3. Livestreaming executions- let's just ask the trrrsts to start ramping up kidnappings and live executions. Because that's what we are doing livestreaming this. What a total sht show! How stupid is this? Do we not have morals? Boundaries? Claiming it serves as deterrence is like saying video games are deterrents to actually shooting people and movies deter too. That's utter hooey. Our culture is full of sick ppl livestreaming abuse to humans and animals. We'd just add to it by behaving like we live in 1700's again.
I love this extra post!
