• The case❗: Trump revoked the press passes for CNN, MS NOW and Politico — they are suing to get them back on First Amendment grounds.

  • It seems like a pretty cut-and-dried case.

  • Go deeper🪏: There is another issue of the White House TV pool — that is the three-person TV crew with close access each day to the president

    • It rotates between CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox News

      • With CNN kicked out, the other pool members refused to provide a replacement crew and are refusing to cover any pool events.

  • It seems unlikely the courts will get involved in the TV pool question

• What I am thinking💭: The White House can win both ways — let the courts order the press passes reinstated and effectively they will have broken the pool.

42 days📅: Hispanic voters may very well decide whether Trump gets impeached, whether his Cabinet picks get confirmed and whether he gets his Supreme Court picks.

• Latino voters are abandoning Trump

  • Today, Trump’s approval rating among Latino voters is at 30%

  • These are voters who Trump won by wide margins in 2024

  • Republican Congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar dropped an ad publicly rebuking Trump’s immigration

• Their top issue is the economy

  • Latinos are largely in the trades. They work with their hands, drive F-150s, use bulldozers

  • The economy and prices affect them on a visceral basis

• Put the United Nations on blast — good, they do the Chinese dirty work

• Threaten to blow, actually topple, Iran’s regime — good, maybe it will finally happen

  • Iranian diaspora rallied outside the U.N. against the Islamic regime with pictures of those executed in Iran.

    • Odd they didn’t get more coverage considering how concerned Democrats and many in the media are about Muslim deaths in Gaza

• Cuba — put them on warning. Good — the Cuban people have suffered long enough.

🚗Tomorrow — Trump goes to Joint Base Andrews to personally welcome President Xi of China.

• 🔙The last time we can find a president welcoming an American adversary at Andrews is Kennedy with Saudi King Saud

• Before that is Eisenhower with Khrushchev — a more relevant comparison

  • Xi didn’t meet Trump in Beijing –

    • Trump feels he can get good deals from bad people through force of will — so far, that hasn’t happened with Putin or Xi or Rocketman

Be fair⚖️: Trump’s foreign policy — whatever you think of it — has yielded major wins.

• The Abraham Accords

• A remade Middle East aligned against Iran

• The Greenland bases

🤦If he has goals or organizing principles, he is not sharing them — and his actions present no obvious through line.

Kamala Harris was in Michigan today campaigning with El-Sayed to shore up Black voters. On the flip side, Sand in Iowa said “no thanks” to campaigning with Harris.

• 📰The New York Times writes: “Many Democrats Are Avoiding Kamala Harris. Abdul El-Sayed Welcomed Her”

• For El-Sayed, there is a shameless payoff for African American voters.

  • So he’s using Harris to prop up his image with Black voters, especially women.

‼️This is the problem with Democrats cozying up to Islamists —

• Those who seek power on the back of a tiger often end up inside

• This is what happens to progressives who think the Islamists are friendly

  • Reality🤷: They are not. They just want power.

Not the answer🤦: The Democratic Party is less popular than data centers. So, the party is part of the problem.

Betting on Debt💸

📺We heard from a lot of you last night about our segment on DraftKings using AI to target likely losers. Betting sites are turning into predators, and now, it’s getting even worse

• They want to become margin lenders in the same way you can borrow from Charles Schwab to buy stocks

  • 📰CNBC headlines: “Kalshi asks CFTC to allow margin trading on its platform, letting users buy with borrowed funds”

    • At least right now, margin accounts won’t be able to bet on sports — at least right now

  • Kalshi accounts for about 90% of the prediction market share.

• 📉 There are very few who actually win on these betting platforms:

  • Over 70% of Kalshi traders have been unprofitable.

    • Users have collectively lost around $583.5 million since 2021

    • $371.6 million of that was on sports-related bets

  • And around 69% of accounts have lost money on Polymarket.

🚨Betting addiction is a story that is very underreported in America.

• Why: People don’t like talking about losing money. They don’t like talking about their kids losing money.

• But Kalshi and Polymarket have somehow convinced the world and regulators that betting, not just on sports, is like investing in stocks.

  • That’s like drug cartels convincing the DEA they are Walgreens.

  • As a result, they are regulated much less than casinos

  • They are allowed to prey on teenagers who aren’t normally allowed in casinos

🚨So what could be worse for young men than sitting in their basements on their phones, losing money they don’t have?

• If there is a place for government regulation, this is it

• And yet — big surprise — Congress is doing absolutely nothing about it.
