I look forward to these notes every night. You usually hit the nail on the head. O’Reilly used to be like that but too fearful of admitting Iran is a disaster.

My evening routine is now back to normal with War Notes & On Balance, of course with Leland.

News Nation is my go to now, and On Balance is a must see. Honest reporting with very insightful questions and much needed data. I'm also skeptical about leopards changing their spots, and the IRGC spots haven't changed since I was in high school in the 70's. JD comes across as gullible, and I Definitely don't want him as Commander in Chief

Best there is right here. Never miss a night w Leland. JD Vance is hurting USA in so many ways ...it's truly horrifying. The biggest problem is GOP never messages successfully ---AT ALL. There is so much they could be using. These political consultants make millions. For a hundred thousand, I could fix so many of their issues. NOT joking! These consultants aren't worth one penny. The politicians are failing miserably yet no one makes any changes as to who they talk to, work with and trust. Awful

Glad you're back, Leland! Looking forward to your show, as always ❤️

The more we hear about negotiations with Iran, the more it seems like 1938. Good call, Leland. It might be too late, but the Republicans could still win the midterms if Trump would take a 3 month golf vacation. Just take care of routine business & the Democrats will beat themselves.

But you know Trump cannot keep his mouth shut for more than 5 minutes!

I will start out by saying that I still can’t figure out how to routinely read this column since you changed servers. Some days I can find text to read other days I am forced to listen to the videos, which I absolutely cannot stand. In any case, I do appreciate what you say I just wish it was as easy to read it as it used to be.

My concerns are many. I fear that the United States has spent much of the last 60 or 70 years. Cohen Cohen congratulating itself on how rich and powerful it is and failing to recognize the rot slowly eating away at our national power. Similar to the French, who looked at the activities of Germany in the late 1930s and didn’t think it mattered because they had built the supposedly impregnable Maginot line only to find that it collapsed within hours or days of Hitler’s attack in 1940, I fear that we have so busy, patting ourselves on the back and talking about the glory days of World War II that we have failed to realize that we have not won an honest legitimate war against a real opponent since 1945. Other countries, some large like China were small, like Ukraine have spent much effort and treasure developing and honing the newest technologies like hypersonic missiles and drones while we have a president who dreams of building gigantic new battleships named after himself that will be taken out in a matter of hours at the beginning of an honest shooting war. Likewise, will he become afraid to lose men or material in honest straightforward fights. The lack of willingness to commit ground troops to Iran, condemned our efforts there to ultimate failure. The problem is is that our enemies know that we are unwilling to make the ultimate commitments and ultimate sacrifices necessary to prevail military, and they also understand that our wealth permits us to giveaway money and access to markets to secure tenuous peace. That is what is going on in Iran right now we will have a deal worse than made by Barack Obama that will cost us more and get us less. And Marc, my words will rise again in five or 10 years and this time we likely will not have Israel to help us because we have alienated ourselves from them so thoroughly. The ultimate result will be is that we will indeed become a second rate power much like Great Britain became in the 1950s. We will have the shadow and memories of power and empire, but the realities of a small military establishment that cannot get out of its own way and is afraid to fight. We will find our industries taken over and surpassed by those from places like China and Southeast Asia and even parts of Europe because of our stubborn insistence continuing to build giant gas, guzzling cars and trucks. We have starved the education infrastructure so that the only the children of the wealthy will have access to the best schools and the best education and the rest of us can go to state schools or trade schools and become easy father for a military draft, which is also short to come. I say none of this with any great joy, your pleasure and I don’t revel in it. I just don’t understand why so many people who are so much smarter than me can’t look at this and look a few years down the road and see where we’re going and what we’re becoming and not try to do something about it before it’s too late. The solution does not lie Trump or JD Vance and it certainly doesn’t lie in the left-wing of the Democratic Party because that path will lead us to nothing more than getting free Chinese lessons in all of our school so that we can talk to our colonial masters and overlords. We need to get back to the common spirits of sacrifice and unity. The prevailed during World War II and we need to give out military contracts, promotions, and leadership positions to people based on their ability not on seeing how many minorities and women can be promoted into positions for window dressing. I am 73 years old and I fear for the future of our country. I have a new grandchild who I’m afraid will never grow up to know the America that I knew. This is not what I spent in my lifetime trying to achieve.

Between you and Erick Erickson (whom I adore!), I wake up and end the day completely depressed and distressed about the future of our country. But appreciate you pouring the cold water on our faces and telling us the truth.
