The GOP's Losing Strategy
Republicans are making the same mistake Democrats made.
Charlie Brown foreign policyđ¤Ś: President Trump told Iran today itâs their âlast chanceâ to sign a deal with the U.S.
âď¸Yes â as we predicted Friday, Trump once again backed down from his threats of a World War II-like bombing campaign
He claimed âit was going to be a massive attackâ and it was going to be âthe biggest attack since World War IIâ
Good readđ°: âTrump gambled on everything on Iran â now heâs the weakest player of allâ
Embarrassingđ¤Ś: Reports say Iran denies talks with the U.S are back on.
What Iâm thinkingđ: The right went NUTS (rightly) over Obamaâs redline in Syria â it was a horrible moment â Trump keeps doing it over and over.
Tonightđş: Brig. Gen. John Teichert on Trumpâs options for getting out of an impossible situation
Food for thoughtđ¤: The only thing Iran had to do under the MOU was mildly behave to get a combined $400 billion, and they didnât, wouldnât and couldnât do that.
Common senseâźď¸: Maybe itâs a good thing buffoonery, hypocrisy and beating your wife are no longer shameful in politics, although I have not figured out why that would be.
đ¤ˇIf you need to show photo ID for access to NYCâs socialist city grocery stores, itâs not too much to ask for ID to vote
âThose credibly accused of beating their wife and sexually harassing female staffers â yes, these are different people â should NOT be in Congress.
These are not controversial views â or at least they should not be.
But here we aređ¤Ś: Trump refused to say a congressman who denies beating his wife should resign.
Moreâ: The congressmanâs former father-in-law (a sitting senator) got shamed into issuing a humiliating statement after refusing to cut ties with said congressman.
Without a shred of irony, Mayor Zohran Mamdani demanded photo ID to shop at his taxpayer-funded grocery stores.
Brightspotđ: Maybe we are ready for a 3rd party â the party of common sense.
Bill Maher and James Carville say they are done with the Democrats.
We can only hope
Watching Joe Manchinâs unintended eulogy for his Democratic Party shows a real opening
Tucker Carlson and others say Republicans arenât âAmerica firstâ enough.
Best caseđ: They leave, giving Republicans the ability to move back to the center.
Maybe just maybe there is now room for a party of common sense?!?!
Itâs possibleđ: Independents (really former Democrats) in Nebraska, Idaho and Montana are doing well in Senate races.
Could an independent (former Republican) do well in a deep blue state? We can only hope
Watch tonightđş: Democratic strategist Madeline Summerville and creator and executive producer of âThe Circusâ on Showtime, Mark McKinnon
Deafening Silenceâźď¸
Republicansâ strategy for the midterms consists of screaming really loudly about the dangers of socialism and communism.
Be fairâď¸: They arenât wrong â Francesca Hong and Abdul El-Sayed are likely to win in their primaries.
Maybe Cori Bush too in St. Louis.
The thought of Hong as governor and El-Sayed as a senator should scare all Americans â their positions and views are antithetical to American values
Some headlinesđ°:
Look backđ: Democrats tried that very same strategy in 2024 against Trump and rightly got trounced.
Momentâźď¸: DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin got trashed by the right for sounding too âsoftâ on immigration
Numbersđ˘: DHS has already deported more people so far this year than all of last year
Be smartđ§ : Swashbuckling rhetoric on immigration kills Republicans in swing states and districts
Yet, MAGA and America want the âbadassâ rhetoric.
đ¤ˇAmericans donât like Trump and Republicans in the same way they didnât like Biden and Democrats â those in power feel out of touch, and itâs time to throw the bums out.
Messaging đŹ: Today, Trump demanded his party whistle past the midterm graveyard.
Trump: âMy REAL Polling Numbers, not those made up by the Fake News Media, are the best they have ever been, and why wouldnât they be with the biggest tax cuts and employment numbers EVER, the biggest outside Investment in America in World history, a totally secure Border, a giant Victory in Venezuela, the Denuclearization of Iran, unparalleled respect and success throughout the World, and much more? Donât believe the Radical Leftâs Fake Poll numbers. They are Crooked and Corrupt, just like the Country Destroying Dumocrats are Crooked and Corrupt. VOTE REPUBLICAN FOR GREATNESS IN AMERICA!â
Reality: The polling for Republicans is AWFUL â there is not a single bright spot
Tonightđş: Bill OâReilly on whether Republicans are making the same mistakes Democrats did.
Data Divideâ
đDemocrats have decided that going after data centers is a winning political argument
James Talarico: âData centers are jacking up utility bills across the state of Texas. They are using up our water oftentimes before we even realize theyâre being built in our backyards.â
AOC: âOne of the largest donors to Trump is ChatGPT and people who own AI companies, and now they are starting to crack down on everyday Americans who are concerned about data centers being built in their backyardâ
Francesca Hong: âItâs time to press control, alt, delete to put a stop to this AI data center crisis. A full moratorium until we have the new regulations we need to protect our energy costs, our economy, our environmentâ
Why it mattersâźď¸: By going after these centers, they are crippling us in Americaâs fight against our No. 1 enemy, China, and doing nothing to protect us against AI.
đThey are screwing America
Data centers provide jobs
A single data center provides 50 -3,000-plus permanent jobs
And 400-1.2K construction jobs
Brings in tax money that can help pay for roads, public schools, etc.
âźď¸Being against data centers is like being against Walmart coming to town â hurts the town but is an extraordinarily effective political tool.
đ¤The real threat of AI is that there is barely any regulation on it.
Must read đ°: The New Yorker headlines âThe Future, Made in China,â writing:
âBeijing is competing with the U.S. for tech supremacy. Who wins will have huge political implications.â
The answerâď¸: Build data centers like crazy but force AI companies (and NVIDIA) to put in safeguards, plus work to counter China.
PS: There are more regulations on vitamin supplements than AI right now.
Watch tonightđş: Rep. Suhas Subramanyamâs congressional district has 300 data centers â maybe he can talk some sense into Democrats?

Happy Monday see you tonight on NewsNation after Cuomo
WOW....admittedly it's been awhile for me. I watch every night (well the next morning on DVR otherwise I won't sleep). All this looks like a MUST SEE show. Curious to hear the perspectives.
Part of me wants to step in and start the "Common Sense" party.
