As VP, I certainly think Vance has been better than Harris was. But, VPs don’t generally have power and get blamed for the president’s policies. Time will tell who gets nominated.

As for Clancy, I think what she did was horrific and tragic but I also think to do what she did she must have been really ill. I never knew much about psychosis til a member of my extended family suffered from postpartum depression and psychosis and it wasn't pretty. She heard voices and was paranoid and thought she was being spied on when she wasn't. Thankfully, she got the help she needed thanks to her husband and doctors. This was a couple months after getting a flu vaccine. I was 100% vaccines as a young parent, but now I wish we went much slower.

He was admitted to the hospital and survived for almost 5 days and died of “overwhelming chickenpox”. He had chickenpox as a child but the transplant treatment seems to have negated natural immunity. At his funeral friends and family kept reminding me it was God’s will, he had gone to a better place, etc. All I could think of was you knew your kids had chickenpox, why would you expose him knowing he just had a transplant. Back then (the early 50s), there were “exceptional” schools where deaf, blind, paralyzed or deformed children were kept out of sight. Parents with “normal” children didn’t want their children exposed to “exceptional” children. No one wanted their children to be sequestered to avoid taunts of “normal” children. Children can be harsh if their parents don’t teach them better. If a vaccination could possibly protect their child, a friend or neighbor, or a stranger on the street, it was worth trying
