Sad to Report‼️
This weekend’s news proves us correct over the past six weeks — more trouble ahead.
The British are coming‼️: 251 years ago, Paul Revere would have been the hottest cable news guest you could ever have — he started his ride on the night of April 18, 1775.
🎬They still reenact it, as the AP says:
“The silversmith and express rider was dispatched to Lexington to warn Revolutionary leaders Samuel Adams and John Hancock that the British were coming to arrest them. He then headed to Concord to warn about raids on military stockpiles.”

Good questions📺: Revere, like many successful businessmen of the time, led the patriot cause — can you imagine a cable news interview with him?
Now that you have the British pushed back to Boston, what are you going to do with them?
What makes you think the most powerful navy, army and empire of the world is beatable?
You have led the patriot movement since the Sons of Liberty and through the Boston massacre, but it’s never worked — why should anybody risk their life going forward?
Many of your fellow Bostonians are loyal to the crown — are you a traitor, or are they?
Who will lead your new nation?
What I am thinking💭: Do we have men like Revere, Madison, Jefferson, Franklin, Washington and my personal favorite, Patrick Henry, who vehemently disagreed but came together for the cause of liberty?
Watching Iowa👀: It’s worth watching this ad from Iowa Democrat Rob Sand — he’s running for governor and might just win.
Prediction💭: Iowa will be one of the most interesting states to watch for the midterms.

📈Prices of Pork and Eggs are up.
⁉️Why? California passed a law called Prop 12.
❌Now, there are new mandates on how you can raise pigs and chickens if you want to sell in California.
💰Farmers need to spend millions to be compliant, making eggs and bacon cost more.
🧑🌾This mostly impacts out-of-state farmers, who didn’t vote on the law but still need to comply.
🙏Solution: The Farm Bill has a fix to keep Prop 12 within California’s borders.
‼️Action Item: Pass the Farm Bill. Bring down costs. Don’t let California impose higher food prices on everyone.

There Are No Easy Wins🤷
😬 We regret to inform you that we were right ... President Trump got played.
⬇️The golden deliverables Trump told us Iran agreed to on Friday morning are sitting at the bottom of the Strait of Hormuz.
🤦So far, the Iranians are paying no price for embarrassing him — they will learn from this.
‼️In fact, America seems almost desperate for tomorrow’s negotiations in Pakistan rather than forcing the Iranians to show they are serious.
Now😬: Trump is walking through the political, military and geopolitical version of hell — trapped on all sides with no good options.
🤦When walking through hell, you keep going — instead, Trump is stopping and turning around, looking for various shortcuts and negotiating.
Problem🚨: Two weeks ago, Trump got bored with the Iran war — it wasn’t working.
Angry😡: The Wall Street Journal reports a president who realizes the risks and can’t figure out what to do about them, headlining:
🤷As we explained from the start of the war, once you start it, you must finish it.
Reality‼️: Trump needs the war to go away — he wants a victory for his legacy.
Iran senses both of those things and keeps playing him.
Look back🔙: Trump was right when he said President Obama’s Iran nuclear deal was terrible.
🤷The current regime isn’t going to agree to anything more restrictive.
🔒They have tasted what it’s like to control the strait.
💣More than ever, they are convinced they need a nuke.
👊They feel empowered by their own radical base to fight America
‼️Iran’s actions have proven why Trump was right to take action and why the Iranians must be brought to their knees
Two weeks📅: In the two weeks since Trump threatened to destroy Iran’s civilization only to back off, Trump has gotten nothing that he wants and everything he doesn’t.
Unpredictable🤦: The president’s allies often cite his unpredictability as a strength — in this case, he’s acting totally predictably.
He’s looking for a deal.
He’s taking them at face value.
He’s not punishing bad behavior.
He’s not demanding good deeds and instead accepting good words.
🤷Trump’s surrogates keep saying the American people must be willing to accept short-term economic pain for long-term gain — Trump must be willing to do the same thing.
Watch tonight📺: NewsNation’s Kellie Meyer as well as Mark McKinnon and Jeff Mason on Trump’s political choices
Plus➕: Retired Brig. Gen. John Teichert and Kirsten Fontenrose on his military options ahead of tomorrow’s negotiations.
California dreaming💤: Two days before California’s gubernatorial debate, the two leading candidates are Republicans — this is in a state that’s D+20.
Steve Hilton (R): 17%
Chad Bianco (R): 14%
Tom Steyer (D): 14%
Xavier Becerra (D): 10%
Katie Porter (D): 10%
Matt Mahan (D): 5%
😬This just shows how screwed up the Democratic Party is.
Must read📰: The Atlantic headlines, “California’s Blue Armageddon,” writing
✏️“One of the most liberal states in the country can’t find a Democrat to lead it.”
Wow💰: Democratic candidate Tom Steyer is running the most expensive campaign in America, says Politico — and it’s coming out of his own pocket.
Look back🔙: Steyer spent over $200 million of his fortune in his 2020 presidential run — and got nowhere.
🤷Yes, a $2.4 billion net worth has its perks, but it doesn’t seem to help much in politics.
$120 million and he’s only at 14% — it’s good to be a political consultant.
Travel alert🚨: See you from San Francisco tomorrow and Wednesday night for the gubernatorial primary debate.
‼️Wednesday night, we will be hosting the pregame to the debate, and Katie Pavlich will do the postgame.
