To get them back, they want more Democrats to start speaking more like ordinary people — and less like progressive politicos or liberal arts professors.”....it is not just the vocabulary, the messaging. They have a problem with credibility...we still remember "Biden is sharp as a tack"....how can they ever be trusted again? They don't call out what is morally wrong....i.e. fraud

Trump doesn't lie? Can he be trusted?

Great topics to discuss tonight, Leland! Looking forward to your show ❤️

What great topics, as usual.

Trump is at it again, Lake of America. gives me a chuckle. Looking forward to Bolton.

.-WW III, yikes, it has occurred to me since Russia invaded Ukraine. And now Iran.

.- Can't bring myself to be woke. I really think it's one of the most embarrassing phases we have been in as Americans.

.- Killing for survival and status/ power has been going on since "caveman" times. It may explain Anthony, But it doesn't apply to Clancy. That is incomprehensible to me.

Sounds like another thought provoking show.

Great Lakes names are based on ancient Indian names tribes. Names did not originate with Canada or US

Lucky, may I respectfully make a few corrections to your post? His name is Karmelo Anthony, not Carmelo. And he was a student at a rival high school, not the same school as Austin Metcalf. He was also suspended from school and snuck in to the track meet.

As to the Lindsay Clancy case, no one thinks that she will be exonerated of the crime. According to the judge's ruling , she can be found guilty of first degree murder, second degree murder, manslaughter, not guilty, or not guilty by reason of insanity.

In Massachusetts, the last option requires the to prove she WAS NOT psychotic. The law does not require the defense to prove she WAS psychotic. Now there is ZERO chance she will be found not guilty, as she has admitted she killed the kids.

Here in New England the case is getting wall to wall coverage. It is a very, very complex case. Those women supporting her outside the courthouse in no way support what she did. They are merely stating that the mental health system failed her and she sh6nit go to jail, but rather a psychiatric hospital.. And she clearly has some SERIOUS mental health issues. Was she hearing voices? Did she know right from wrong? The jury will decide. In the "best" case, she would be sent to a psychiatric hospital for a long, long time. And those places are not like Club Med.

The media appears to be blaming her mental health practitioner for the actions of Clancy. They seem to be saying that she should have known. Reality check: few, if any, people (doctors, lawyers, accountants, etc.) are psychic. In order for them to know what your problem is and what action to take, you have to tell them why you contacted them. Surprisingly, many people go to see a doctor or therapist and don’t say why they came in. Talking about being depressed without being specific probably won’t get the same response as saying that you want to kill yourself or someone else (nor should it). Giving a woman who has several small children one or several prescriptions and sending her home usually doesn’t help because it won’t change the fact that she is overwhelmed and still responsible for those children. Unless the patient actually tells the therapist that she has reached or surpassed her limit and is thinking of killing herself and/or her children, the therapist won’t know and can’t take appropriate action. Appropriate action may include an involuntary hold for psychiatric evaluation.

The frisco, Texas high school stabbing/murder was not " between 2 teamates". They attended different high schools within the same school district.

Fact checking is important. Name being Karmelo vs Carmelo should not be difficult to check Different schools in same school district at same track meet should not be difficult to check. I googled Carmelo Anthony and results were an adult professional athlete, not a high school athlete.

Correct ....... All needs to be fact checked........ Thank you

This is all pointing to wide spread violence once we’re on the eve of the elections. Those of us that remember how it was in 1968 can see the parallels.

Woke originally meant being aware of social injustice.

Today depending on whose using it can be positive/neutral being concerned about inequality.

Negative/political criticism of ideas too much based on identity, political correctness and progressive ideas.

Marxist one who believes class struggle, collective ownership-nothing to do with identity politics.

Of copurse, those on the right use Marxist loosely -thus often as tonight someone believes that left idea is no good will call idea such as Identity politics as Marxist. Has nothing to do with Marxism. Bad idea but not Marxist

Re: your session with Chris Cillizza. Great discussion. Facts, policy, and reasonable discussion. True adult conversation.

Other topics I commented on in the mid day posting.

Unrelated to tonight’s show: I think the CEO of Flock Cameras said his company was addressing the concerns with the data and misuse by having the default setting changed from 30 days to 7 going forward. If true, this does nothing. End users change default settings on everything from their phones, laptops, tablets to the paint color in their homes. Something to look at?
